Kid's Dancing Program Offered at Clearwater Studio

By Jim Lamb

Ballroom dancing, while sometimes a frightening proposition to the adult uninitiated, is a piece of cake for kids. And why not? They lack adult concern for appearances, are unafraid of falling down, or looking foolish, and possess energy enough to make a Border collie jealous. So with all that plyable drive, and courage, all that's missing is quality instruction. Well, Clearwater has that now, too.

In August, world famous purveyors of the dance, Arthur Murray Dance Studios opened their newest location on Highland Avenue in Clearwater, giving Pinellas county residents one less excuse to put off learning ballroom dancing in Tampa Bay. With the launching of the Kid's Dance Program, parents can now ensure their children can at least positively raise eyebrows at every wedding they'll ever attend, if not lay the groundwork for a career a show business. So whether you want to retire to the Caribbean on your famous kid's dime, provide them a rewarding method of exercise, or just want to involve them in a positive activity, Arthur Murray Clearwater has a kid's dancing package that will suite your needs.

Kid's classes are geared toward those aged 7-17. Patient, and professional dance instructors will teach the basics in dances like FOXTROT, WALTZ, RUMBA, SWING, CHA-CHA, and more.

Dance studio owners Sevrin Szapiaczan and Landra Seim assure parents considering having their kids learn to dance, "Kids frequently change partners and have loads of fun while learning."

Students learn fundamental skills in at least two dance styles in every class. The beginner class is designed as a fun introduction to ballroom dance in the various dancing styles. The Advanced Classes will then focus on dance choreography and advanced technique. The Clearwater studio also offers private lessons five days per week for those oriented children more desirous of a performance and competition track.

The cost for the Children's Dance Class is $15 per class, per student, or $165 for the entire 11-week course.

Beginner Children's Dance Classes will be held on Wednesdays beginning at 6:00pm for children aged 7-12, and older children (13-17) will be taught at 6:45pm.

Intermediate/Advanced classes are every Saturday morning at 11:00am, for those aged 7-12, and 11:45am, for those aged 13-17.

There is no registration fee, but registration is required. For further details, or to sigh up, please or call the Clearwater, FL dance studio at 727-489-9919, or visit the studio's website at ArthurMurrayClearwater.com. - 15995
