Points for the Best Wrinkle Cream

By Jen Hopkins

What are the points for the best wrinkle cream? Unlike other products that are considered to be drugs, there are no FDA research results for wrinkle creams. Creams and lotions are considered to be cosmetics. Cosmetics do not undergo as much testing and research, therefore, effectiveness will be based purely on consumer reports.

The only time the FDA would intrude into the market of cosmetics is when false claims are made or when there are certain ingredients which have been proven to be hazardous or are potentially dangerous to the consumers. Because of this, it is very difficult to identify the best wrinkle creams if we are fully dependent on results made by health organizations. This puts extra responsibility for the consumers to identify for themselves what works for them.

There is no precise system, specially, if you are merely a consumer looking to improve your skin. The only factor sought would probably safe and effective. However, to dissect effectiveness and safety, here are the specific points you should look for.

Expensive: Expensive=Effective. This is totally untrue. There is no direct connection between the cost and the effectiveness. A less costly product may be more effective than one that is worth hundreds of dollars.

Dose: For active ingredients, more doesn't always mean better. If you have very sensitive skin, then you may consider non prescription wrinkle creams since they have less ingredients. If you have no problems with those ingredients, and suffer from more problems, then go and get your prescription wrinkle cream.

Research: There is constant and updated research on the ingredients that are effective in improving wrinkles. However, consumers should be aware that anti wrinkle creams are not typically subjected to research conducted by separate organizations. This means research on specific wrinkle cream brands is rarely comprehensive and objective. It is best to depend on the ingredient research.

Daily Use: Without consistent daily use, wrinkle cream and other anti aging products are totally useless. It would require around once or twice a day of continuous use before any changes are noticed. Once the eye cream or aging cream is discontinued, you can expect your skin to return to its original state.

Side Effects: Always test your wrinkle creams for irritation. Ideally, apply it on the inner side of your arm. Skin in that part is as thin as your skin on the face, so it makes ideal testing ground. Watch out for rashes, burning or redness. Before any application, strictly follow the instructions to avoid these side effects. The Best Anti Wrinkle Cream should not produce any adverse effects for your skin. - 15995
