Home Remedies For Acne

By Lucy Collins

There are lots of home remedies for acne that actually work for many people. Many people who go on prescription medications may have been able to clear their acne in a much easier way.

It has long been debated whether or not home remedies can work for acne or not, or that they are weaker than other things you can use to fight acne. In many cases they are weaker, but you get less side effects and in many cases they can clear your acne up easily. It is all about allowing the body to heal itself. If you learn to change the way you treat your skin, it may also have lasting results where medications may allow acne to return.

Vitamins such as niacin, vitamin A, or vitamin E, have been proven to help clear up that nasty acne. Be sure to get niacin that is "flush free" otherwise you could experience a rash much like hives, and you might start to feel intensely warm or hot!

Garlic has also been known to be one of the most effective remedies out there, despite what others might think. If you take raw garlic, and rub it on the pimples that you need to get rid of you will have clear skin in a relatively short period of time! Make sure that you rub the garlic on your face numerous times a day, though.

A well balanced diet can also be considered excellent home remedies acne treatment! Along with your well balanced diet, make sure that you are eating plenty of fruit throughout your day. Fruit and vegetables within your diet will actually help you to prevent anymore acne breakouts!

Not only will eating fruit help you to keep that acne from coming back, but lemons can also help you to get rid of that nasty acne! Basically all you need to do is squeeze a single lemon, and apply that to your pimples! Orange peels can also help you reduce your chance of future breakouts.

Zinc in cream and/or tablet form has been used for decades and is still a favourite home remedy to this day. Of course zinc based lotions or creams are applied directly in accordance with the given instructions although many people choose to take the zinc tablets instead. These are most often taken at the regular dose for a period of one month before gradually reducing the dosage. Results should be visible shortly after the end of the first month.

Of course, as there are many different home treatments you'll need to find which ones work best for you simply through trial and error. The remedies I have mentioned in this article are only the tip of the iceberg and with a little research, you'll find a wealth of others which you may wish to try.

Some remedies are certainly a bit outlandish. They may only work for a small percentage of the population. Of course, there are acne treatments which work much better. Among the best are not products but lifestyle changes - teaching the body to heal itself. It is there in your diet and it can be as simple as a change in diet and exercise. - 15995
