The Diet To Use Before And After Your Muscle Building Workout

By Westy

The diet that you follow while you are trying to build muscles is very important. You will have to make sure that you are giving your body what it needs to build the muscles that you want on your body. The foods that are chosen are very important, but so is the timing of your meals.

Secret Key

There are some things that can be done before your workout and after to make sure that you are giving your body everything that it needs to grow and repair muscles. Many people don't eat enough food before their workout and then overeat when they have completed their muscle building program. This type of eating will cause there to be an imbalance in the delivery of nutrients to your muscles.

In short, there must be an approximated 1.5 hours or an hour and 30 minutes of preparation time before you engage in your workouts and the same amount of time to be observed after the said workout. Given that your workout will span for an hour, you will have a total of 4 hours to be considered as your critical hours. It is termed critical because it is during these hours that your body is most sensitive to its nutrient needs and where muscle usage is at its peak

The foods that are eaten before a workout are where you will give your body the carbohydrates that it needs for energy during the workout. This is important so that your body will have a sufficient amount of nutrients to burn for energy while you are working out. When you don't give your body anything to burn during this time, it will go after what is stored in your body.

Before the workout, you are working to give your body the carbohydrates that it needs for energy during the workout. This is what your body should be using during the workout for energy. If you do not give your body the energy, it will use the stored energy in your body during the workout. This may cause your workout to be useless as your body is using up your stored energy.

The food choices for this meal should be proteins and complex carbohydrates. This will give your body the energy that it needs to get through the workout with enough energy. Fruit juice is a good choice for your drink during this meal.

The foods that are eaten after your workout should be high quality food. Make sure that you are taking in enough protein so that your body will have what it needs to begin repairing your muscles. It is during this repair process that your muscles will be built up. You should also look to consume about a quarter of your calories for the day during this meal.

The key point to consider is the timing when you eat. It is advisable to eat within the 1.5 hours of post-workout time. However, the sooner you have the ingredients for muscle repair, the earlier the rebuilding process will commence. A good sports drink may be a good beverage to start with. All in all, eat freely and don't be anxious of becoming fat if you eat excessively after workouts because this is the time when your cells are literally hungry! - 15995
