Weight loss using the right foods will help you if it is great health and a fantastic shape you are seeking as many of them actively help the reduction of body fat formation. In fact there are a number of categories of food that can help maintain weight and allow you to actually enjoy your diet.

Most people can enjoy pasta meals but other main dishes that contain certain green vegetables like cabbage, peas, boiled beans and brussels are also excellent weight loss foods. Tomato sauce is actually better for you than tomatoes but if you add this to a portion of spaghetti and perhaps mix it with some veal which is also low in fat you have a highly nutritious low fat, great tasting meal.

Fruits like kiwi, strawberries and water melons are also good if you are pursuing a weight loss food program.

People who exercise regularly should not need to worry too much about the high calorie content of figs and bananas but they are not an ideal weight loss food although grapes are. Of course vegetables are mainly made up of water but also contain amounts of healthy nutrients and minerals plus large quantities can be eaten without weight gain so the likes of tomatoes, cucumber, celery, lettuce are all good weight loss foods.

Foods with high a sugar content (amongst others) like chocolate, cakes and fast foods are not good for healthy weight loss, in fact probably the complete opposite; unhealthy weight gain. However, there is some great low-fat source of energy you can take advantage of in special products such as low fat ice-cream and cookies, dark chocolate, low-fat mayonnaise and the list could go on. If you want to include such products in your weight loss food programming, it would be a good idea to read all the specifications on the packages as related to the ingredients and the amount of calories.

Foods with high a sugar content (amongst others) like chocolate, cakes and fast foods are not good for healthy weight loss, in fact probably the complete opposite; unhealthy weight gain.
