Banish those Wrinkles for good

By Nigel James

All of us want to look good. If our skin is wrinkled, it mars our appearance. To most people, wrinkles are a sign of old age. The human body requires its quota of nutrients and minerals. When the body does not get this dose of required nutrients or vitamins, it has an adverse effect on us, in the form of skin aging and wrinkles.

A proper and well balanced diet and level of nutrition, balances the skin. A wrinkle is a distinctive shape of skin on the face, which is mostly caused due to old age, and/or improper intake of nutrients. This loosely held skin, known as wrinkles, tend to spoil the general appearance of ones face.

In this fast age when people hardly have time for themselves, they are unable to care for their bodies. An old person's skin has fewer fat tissues as compared to his skin in his youth. With age, the skin grows but loses its fat tissues, making it sag and leading to wrinkles.

As a person grows older, the skin gets thinner. Moreover, the worries of life and the physical exertion that one goes through take its toll on the skin. Creases begin to appear and the skin no longer remains flexible. The cheekbones show through the thinning skin.

The everyday actions including eating and chewing, subject the skin to a lot of stretching and pulling, making the aging skin succumb to these pressures, resulting in wrinkles. A practical daily schedule in combination with meditation and the right diet optimizes skin texture, thereby reducing or delaying wrinkles.

You can pamper your skin by using products like sunscreens, which prevent skin aging, by protecting it from the harsh treatment of the sunrays. Cleansers can soothe the skin and keep the skin-pores clean. Moisturizers are a great remedy for uneven skin. Alpha Hydroxyl Acids (AHA) or fruit acids can do wonders by keeping your skin smooth and soft. Facial exercise can naturally increase your skin muscle tone and prevent it from sagging. Moreover, it can make your skin flexible, thereby reducing wrinkles.

Scientific research tells us that the rate, at which skin cells renew themselves at young age, slows down with age. This results in uneven and greasy looking skin. Also, due to the decreased water holding capacity of the skin, it loses its plumpness, resulting in wrinkles.

While wrinkles are a natural phenomenon and they will happen eventually, we do have at our disposal a number of remedies at hand that can help curb the development of these wrinkles. All this is possible thanks to the growth and development in medical science. A number of companies have come out with various products that contain DNA and RNA, that are beneficial in combating the growth of wrinkles and delaying the ageing process. Natural proteins such as collagen and elastin are also used widely as they help in rejuvenating the skin. Ceramides are also used to help hydrate the skin, and prevent it from shriveling up due to dryness. - 15995
