The Obvious Benefits of Dance School

By Sarah Wilkiamson

There are many benefits to your child when they attend dance school. It not only enables them to realize the creativity within them but gives them training for other areas in life. Dance is wonderful creative art that can enrich your child's life for many years to come.

Dance fosters creativity:

As mentioned dance is a creative art and many young children have an inborn sense of creativity just waiting to be developed. It is exciting to see this creativity growing when your child takes dance classes. Nurturing creativity at this age will set your child up to explore more avenues in life and learn more in many fields.

Exercising and developing muscles:

There is no doubt about the fact that dancing is a great way for your child to take exercise. All too often children are slaves to TV, video games and computers. Even a good book requires them to be stationary. This results in many children not getting enough exercise and all sorts of subsequent health problems. Dance is one of the most energetic arts, even practicing steps requires some exertion let alone dance routines. It not only offers weekly classes but requires daily practices as well. This means your child will always have their daily exercise and be enjoying themselves while they do it.

Confidence is the key to success:

Your child's confidence will increase as they master the many dance moves they will learn. Even at a very early age it's so easy to see the benefits of even the smallest of successes. Learning to accomplish tasks early on will start a trend that will stay with your child for life. They will want to continue to succeed and learn new things. Not just in dance classes, but in all of their activities.

Learn respect:

Working with a trainer will teach your child how to respect another person and discover what it means to be able to learn from others. Respect is an essential factor needed to have a good relationship between a teacher and student. Young children will easily build a bond with their dance instructor and learn this valuable skill. Respect for the other students is also gained during class sessions.

Development of social skills:

After working in a group of students, your child will gain knowledge of how to behave in a group. Being with classmates and spending time with other students will teach them valuable social skills. Some kids will find it difficult to get along with other children their own age. Dance lessons will help them to learn to socialize with other kids and eventually know what behaviour is acceptable in groups.

Dance helps with bonding:

Another essential part of growing up is sharing success and disappointment with friends and peers. The friendships that many young dancers make tend to stay with them forever and are the source of many fond memories later in life. Too many children are insular these days and don't get the opportunity to develop young friendships. Dancing is a perfect nursery for young children to make friends for life. - 15995
