Treating Acne - How To Get Rid Of Acne Easily?

By Haiyan Lasi-Heskin

Acne is a skin disease caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units (made up of a hair follicle, sebaceous gland, and a hair), everywhere except in the palms of the hands, the soles, the top of the feet, the lower lip.

Acne mostly appears on the face, neck, chest, and back where are more pilosebaceous units there. The upper arms can also have acne, but lesions found there are often keratosis pilaris.

About 85% of all teenagers will have acne to some degree. A teenage body is suffused in raging hormones, and those hormones are responsible in a large part for acne.

There are treatments today for teenage acne that can help keep the acne under control. It's very important to keep their faces clean. Bar soaps or washes may be used and vary from 2 to 10% in strength.

Wash your face with your fingers using a gentle circular motion. Clean your face at least twice each day, morning and evening, and if you are having an outbreak, increase cleansing to three or even four times a day.

The other thing that can be done that will help to prevent acne is eating a healthy diet. Food cannot cause acne outbreaks but the lack of certain nutrients can.

Orally administered zinc gluconate has been shown to be effective in the treatment of inflammatory acne, although less so than tetracyclines.

Basically, keeping your skin clean and eating good balanced diets are about the only things that you can actively do to help prevent acne. - 15995
